An impressive halo coronal mass ejection (CME) is visible in the latest coronagraph imagery courtesy of LASCO. It first became visible in STEREO Ahead imagery beginning around 19:15 UTC (Mar 10). A filament eruption near AR 2962 in the NW quadrant was seen beginning around 18:45 UTC. When watching the filament eruption near AR 2962 in STEREO Ahead, a wave of plasma leaving the site is evident. The latest update by NOAA/SWPC is reporting that they believe this CME to be Earth directed. More updates when a tracking model becomes available.
